Dr. Allison Finkelstein
Allison S. Finkelstein is a historian for the U.S. Army and a specialist in World War I history. She earned her Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of Maryland, College Park, and has worked with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services History Office, the American Battle Monuments Commission, and the Vietnam War Commemoration Office. Dr. Finkelstein is the author of Forgotten Veterans, Invisible Memorials: How American Women Commemorated the Great War, 1917-1945, which received the 2022 MARAC Arline Custer Memorial Award. Her public history work includes museum exhibits, educational programs, documentaries, and commemorative projects, and her scholarship and commentary have been featured by major national media outlets.
